Benson United Football Club was formed on 16th June 1969. The original aims of the football club which are as valid today as then were to promote football and good sportsmanship for the youth of the village. In 2005, the club name was changed to Benson United to incorporate the U16's going into Youth football and also show that the club also catered for girls.

The teams colours are yellow and black.

All 11 a side home games are played at Sunnyside where full changing room facilities are always provided. 7 a side are either played at Sunnyside or at Ewelme.

Under 7's: Attracted over 30 new players.
Under 8's: Double semi-finalists at summer tournaments.
Under 9's: Top of table 03-04. Tournament winners 2003 & 2004. 2 players selected for Academsy's.
Under 11's: Tournament winners 2004. 3 league representative players & 1 Academy player in 03-04.
Under 12's: League winners 02-03. League representative player and an OFA Couny player 03-04.
Under 14's: League winners 01-02.
Under 15's: Finished 3rd 02-03, finished 2nd 03-04.
Girls: Attarcted over 40 girls in 1st season.

The Club registered 230 children for 2003-04, has 21 FA qualified coaches.
